Pop-Up Restaurant at Sydney’s Harbour

We’re excited to share that our Sprucera cabin was built as a unique pop-up restaurant at the iconic Hickson Road Reserve under the Sydney Harbour Bridge, offering guests a glimpse into the future of sustainable living. The restaurant was part of IKEA’s Shared Dining Experience, aimed at educating diners on sustainability and co-living communities.

The dining space provided inside Sprucera cabin was the perfect setting for this innovative event, featuring fresh, responsibly sourced meals prepared with ingredients picked straight from IKEA’s critically-acclaimed spherical Growroom garden. Guests enjoyed views of Sydney’s two most iconic landmarks-the Opera House and the Harbour Bridge-while learning about the importance of sustainability as highlighted in IKEA’s People and Planet Positive 2017 report.

What a great educating event it was about sustainable future while sharing delicious responsibly sourced food with lovely people we just met – truly unforgettable experience – said Remi Buika, Co-Founder of Scandi Cabins after experiencing IKEA’s Shared dining session.

With global population growth expected to significantly impact how we live, this event showcased how sustainable living solutions and co-living communities could evolve in the future. The pop-up restaurant offered an unforgettable experience of how sharing resources, food, and space can bring communities together while promoting responsible living.
